Dreamland

Dreamland Aqua Park is a great alternative to overpriced Wild Wadi. It's located in Umm Al Quwain, but it's only 40-50 min drive from Dubai; take Emirates Road and follow the signs. Dreamland offers you a great variety of slides, pools for kids, green shaded areas, free loungers, lockers and loads of fun. Prices: 100Dhs - adults; 70Dhr - kids below 1.40m; kids smaller than 1m go for free.

You don't have to necessary go into the desert to try to sit on camel's back. At the Marina beach you may spot nicely dressed camels ready for a ride.

Abaya dilemma

Have you ever thought about buying an abaya? Well, maybe as a gift or just to have it to sneak out anonymously to the shop. But while the elaborately embroided or scatterd with crystals can be very expensive (more than couple tousand dirhams), the solutions is: Textil Souq visit. Ask around in the shops and get yourself one made to measure for about....200 Dhs, including head scarf.;-)

Bigger than the biggest...

Burj Dubai Lake can boast the biggest fountain in the world (25% larger than well-known The Bellagio Fountain in Las Vegas). The water nozzles can shoot the water as high as 150m (= 50 storey building). The show is performed at the evenings every 20-30min. Every time different song is played and the fountain "is dancing" to the rhythm of the music. The visual effect is also intensified by 50-colour projectors. Definitely something to go and see!

Mirfa beach festival

As promised yesterday, some photos from Watersports Festival on Mirfa beach. It was nice, but... maybe it was just the end of it, or I don't know, but it felt like "much ado about nothing" (sorry). The kites looked great on the water and in the air, but it all looked a little bit unorganized...

Dubai Marina

Marina district can be described quite simply: high rise towers and then little gap between then - man-made marina. I think that if I'm to move out from my place, that would be my dream location to live in Dubai!
